2004 Northeast Asian Youth Peace Forum Invitation
With the dramatic growth of its economy both in terms of speed and scale, Northeast Asia has become one of the most dynamic regions in the world. However, the region is still politically and militarily unstable due to vestiges of the cold war. We have seen other regions experience difficulties and even armed conflicts as the globe emerged from the grip of the cold war structure.
Therefore, the prevention of conflict is the foremost issue that civil society in Northeast Asia should address. In addition, we should seek ways to deal with the side-effects of economic development prevailing in the region, such as poverty and environmental destruction.
The Korean Sharing Movement (KSM) will hold its 2004 Northeast Asian Youth Peace Forum in Seoul, Korea from December 17-21 at Konkuk University. KSM invites youth and students who long for the peace and prosperity of Northeast Asia to come together to discuss civil society¡¯s role in achieving the goal of peace. The 2004 Peace Forum, which will focus on poverty reduction and the promotion of peace in Northeast Asia, will provide you with opportunities to share ideas with other participants and gain a deeper understanding of the issues at hand.
